Whispers is an anthology of multicultural short stories that arouse the senses and create nostalgia. The stories are marinated in cultural spices and blanched in vernacular, humor and questions of destiny. Everyone has a story. Everyone knows someone who has had a toothache, engaged in childhood pranks or experienced a first winter. The stories capture real life experiences, evoke every emotion and inspire new beginnings. They are filled with surprise endings. Our lives are the compilation of the endless promptings of life’s whispers — from family, friends, culture and experience. Whispers is — a provoking thought, a dry tear, a light laugh away!

Valeriana Bandeh (nee Blasse) was born on the island of St. Lucia. Inspired by the exotic nature of the island, she spends time writing short stories set from the hot volcanic springs of the Caribbean to the landscapes of North America and Asia. As an educator and a business major, she works in an urban school district in New Jersey. Her current writing projects include an anthology of inspirational poems and a textbook that encapsulates many of the rich cultures of her students.
