Youth, Grit & Global Dreams
A Manifesto for the Next Generation
by Francis Toyese Oyekunle

Youth, Grit & Global Dreams is a guide for young people navigating the journey towards identity, purpose, and global opportunities. It speaks to the questions many emerging adults carry: Who am I becoming? How do I handle uncertainty? What does resilience look like in real life? Through grounded storytelling, practical tips, and emotionally intelligent guidance, the book helps readers build the clarity and confidence needed to grow. The chapters use themes that shape the modern youth experience, including belonging, mental and emotional strength, cross-cultural awareness, leadership, and long-term vision. Each section mixes insight with real-world application, offering tips that help readers understand themselves, make thoughtful decisions, and take purposeful action. The book offers steady, honest support for the inner work required to build a meaningful life. Youth, Grit & Global Dreams is both a companion and a challenge. It invites readers to reflect deeply, act intentionally, and embrace the possibilities ahead with resilience and purpose. It is written for young people stepping into adulthood, for immigrants navigating new beginnings, and for dreamers determined to build lives that honor who they are and who they hope to become.

Francis “Toyese” Oyekunle is a Human Resources Professional, storyteller, and advocate for human potential. He has built a career grounded in inclusion, empathy, and the belief that people thrive when they are seen, supported, and challenged to grow. His work in HR has shaped high-performing teams, supported organizational cultures, and connected diverse talent across borders. Beyond organizational leadership, Toyese is a keen observer of human journeys. His writing is informed by years of listening to people’s stories of ambition, transition, resilience, and reinvention. After immigrating and rebuilding his life from the ground up, he became deeply attuned to the quiet struggles that accompany global mobility: loss of identity, pressure to adapt, weight of expectations, and courage required to begin again. These experiences inspired his literary path. He writes with compassion, and a commitment to honoring the lived realities of people, immigrants, and dreamers navigating complex worlds. His first book, Journeys Beyond Borders, explored the diverse experiences of immigrants forging new beginnings. His second book, Unseen Transitions: The Emotional Side of Global Careers, offered a rare and honest look at the inner journey behind international success. With Youth, Grit & Global Dreams, Toyese turns his attention to the next generation, encouraging young people to dream boldly, rise above doubt, and build lives anchored in purpose. His work reflects a deep belief in the potential of emerging leaders and the importance of emotional intelligence in shaping meaningful futures. He continues to support young people, newcomers, privately and at community events, and partners with organizations to create environments where talent can thrive without losing their humanity. He finds joy in having conversations, youth empowerment initiatives, and connecting with people from all walks of life. He thrives at the intersection of strategy and storytelling, blending analytical thinking with a genuine love for human connection
