Dr. Prasad graduated from Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India. He completed his medical training at Wayne State University-Detroit Medical Center, the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and Toronto General Hospital. He has an MSc from the Institute of Medical Science, University of Toronto and a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Waterloo. He is currently Medical Director of the Kidney Transplant Program at St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto, Canada. He is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto, a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada, and a Fellow of the American Society of Transplantation. He received the Mitch Halperin Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching from the University of Toronto in 2025, and was inducted into the Academy of Master Clinicians in 2026. Dr. Prasad has authored or co-authored over 150 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals. He is passionate about simplifying medical concepts for patients. This is his first book.
