The Birdman of Stewart Drive
by
Sharon Hogg
A pigeon, a sparrow, a crossbill and a robin, Each bird needed human attention to survive and the Birdman of Stewart Drive was called into action. While the four stories I share in this book are done so in a fictitious manner, the events are true accounts. I hope that children of all ages will enjoy them, and they will spark family conversations about real-life situations, and valuable lessons will be learned.
Sharon Hogg is the wife of Nelson Hogg and the mother of three: Danny, Dianne, and Sandra, grandmother of six: Maleah and Vienna Hogg, Jennifer and Clayton Thompson, and Jamie and Mariah Robson. Sharon has lived in Medicine Hat, Alberta since 1970. She worked as Provincial Court Librarian for twenty-seven years and has lost track of how many years she taught Sunday School at the historic, St. Barnabas Church in Medicine Hat, where she continues to serve on the Alter Guild. Sharon is a lover of music of many genres. Classically, she plays viola in the community orchestra. With her husband, Nelson playing the piano, she plays the fiddle (violin) at several Senior homes in the community, and Ukulele with the Uke Group out of the Liquid Listening Lounge. She can be heard playing a tune on the piano from time to time just for the love of it. Sharon and her husband enjoyed many years of Square Dancing both at home and abroad. She continues to love Scottish Country Dancing for it’s physical and mental challenges and social benefits. A lover of history, Sharon Hogg is the author of From York Factory to Medicine Hat, Don’t Just Read Your History, Go There. A Scottish Métis Family in Canada.
