Charlene Stiletto's Pocket Colouring Book
by
Melanie Farrar
Charlene’s colourful and whimsical world has been shattered. Her universe has turned to shades of grey. She journeys through frightening symptoms, numerous medical tests, denial, fear, acceptance, and treatment of the autoimmune disease MS—multiple sclerosis. Charlene discovers the power of bravery, spirit, and acceptance through the therapeutic power of wheels, the love from Charlene’s friends, the encouragement from her pup Boots, and the benefits of magic hidden within a paintbrush. Help Charlene in her courageous journey by adding colour back into her world. Help her realize that she is, in fact, still fabulous, regardless of the life-changing challenges before her. Text and images were inspired by Charlene Stiletto Still Fabulous (A chapter book). A donation will be made to MS Canada from the sale of each copy of Charlene Stiletto’s Pocket Colouring Book and the sale of each copy of Charlene Stiletto Still Fabulous. Books sold separately. Melanie was born in England and moved to Canada with her family when she was a small child. Her creativity sparked from a very young age through writing, drawing, painting, and sewing. At nineteen, Melanie studied Fashion and Costume Design in Toronto. This led to an exciting career that has spanned more than two decades, throughout which she drafted patterns and built costumes for theatre and dance. The lavish theatre world influenced Melanie’s whimsical story writing. Melanie received the Indies Today Best Children’s book award in 2023 for her picture book, Charlene Stiletto and Her Search for a Fabulous Pair of Shoes. Melanie continues to illustrate, create, and work on other character driven stories, including further adventures of Charlene Stiletto. Melanie loves tap-dancing, paddleboarding, roller-skating, vacationing in Jamaica, and sharing laughter with her family. She lives in a picturesque story-book town with her guinea pigs and her evil sidekick Nick. www.melaniefarrar.ca @melaniefarrar.author
