Long Story Short, I Survived
by
Minhal Kahloon
Poetry of persistence and healing, Long Story Short, I Survived is the debut collection of Minhal Kahloon. With a lucid, contemporary poetic style, Kahloon wades into the depths of childhood trauma, abuse, mental health, and heartbreak, yet pulls readers onward to the shores of love and healing. Moving effortlessly between raw and romantic, strength and vulnerability, Long Story Short, I Survived reaches out to those of us who have struggled, who have fought, who have endured.
Minhal Kahloon (she/her) is a young writer living in Toronto. Having been surviving since the age of five, she has experiences beyond many of her contemporaries, and brings that to her writing, hoping to show people that things can get better. Her poetry grew out of writing down her feelings when she was younger. Outside of writing, Minhal enjoys reading (from books to poetry on TikTok), making art, watching Netflix, and hanging out with her friends. She lives with her father.
