A Tale of Roses
by Emily Thompson

Thornrose dreams of a life beyond the cottage in the forest that she shares with her brother and sister. When a trio of young royals arrive at her doorstep, each carrying a magical rose grown by a mysterious woman, Thornrose glimpses the possibility of change. The eldest prince leaves his rose behind and Thornrose takes up the task of cultivating it, and as the rose grows, so does her friendship with the prince. But change does not come simply, and love is never straightforward. Thornrose knows who she is and what she wants, but she also knows that neither one of those things is common. If Thornrose is to make her way in this kingdom, she will need to take matters into her own hands.

Emily Thompson has been writing stories since she was a young child and has since pursued an English degree at Wilfred Laurier University. Her debut book, A Tale of Roses, was inspired by a fairytale course she took while attending university, and her passions for medievalism and feminist literature. When she isn’t writing, she enjoys watching animated films and television, as well as gaming. Connect with her on emilthom042@gmail.com. She lives with her family in southern Ontario.
