Doreth was born and raised in a Christian environment. Her parents were ardent Christians who taught their household about the mercies of God and his profound love and caring for mankind. Her parents emphasized the importance of studying and memorizing the Holy Scripture. Also writing God’s word on the table of their heart with the hope that when older that these words would not depart from them. From her early years, she was overwhelmed with the relationship that the man of God, Enoch, established with God while walking with him as Enoch developed a friendship and bond with God. It was difficult to understand God’s patience and profound interest in mankind. Although they exhibited such rebellious behaviour, ingratitude and preferred to worship idols, God contrived means to save and restore man back to him. The chosen whom He called to carry out his plans on earth, some of these men are in this book. As she researched the Holy Scriptures, Doreth was greatly blessed and her spiritual vision was enlightened. She prays that everyone who has chosen to read this book will be spiritually blessed while discovering their purpose for living and experiencing a closer relationship with God. Most importantly, it is her great hope that readers will have a greater understanding of God’s love, grace and mercy towards mankind.

Having been blessed with four children, six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, Doreth gives God thanks for her offspring and never fails to commit them to God on a daily basis. Her grandchildren have always expressed their love and appreciation during their frequent visits with her. As she often engaged them in conversation about their lives and their relationship with God, they occasionally expressed a need for a better understanding of biblical scripture, the underlying meaning of the many parables and how they related to the touchstones of their lives. Having discussed many topics from creation until today, Doreth was overwhelmed by how little that her grandchildren knew about their creator. These voids of knowledge in these young people’s lives compelled Doreth to go humbly to God as she prayed for God to use her as he saw it fit to help these children to come to him and to know who they are in Christ Jesus. The Holy Spirit within her clearly spoke in her heart and inspired her to serve God by sharing her life-long wisdom, understanding of the bible and insight to the way of the Lord. It is Doreth’s hope that anyone who reads this book will be inspired to live the life of Jesus. Doreth prays that readers will be moved by the Holy Spirit as they consider with her some of the righteous and Godly people that contended with sinful situations and yet through God’s love, grace and compassion found favour with God.
