Me, My Selfie, and I
Discovering and Embracing a True Love of Self
by
Lisa MacDonald
Are you ready to meet your selfie and discover your BEST self? Your selfie is everything that makes you YOU… not just what you see on a smartphone! This interactive workbook will guide you through a journey to figure out what you’re good at and why you’re important and lovable. You’ll find activities, a quiz, badges, and even some craft ideas that you can do on your own or with a friend. By progressing through the themes of peace, respect, friendship, wellness, and beauty, you’ll discover… • a love of self that’s based in knowing who you are instead of focusing on the approval of others • how to create an inner sanctuary to bring yourself peace wherever you go • your likes, needs, wants, and interests—and why they matter • how to be your own friend so you can be a friend to others • what it means to stay healthy in your body, mind, and feelings • what makes you beautiful, and how beauty was always within you With Me, My Selfie, and I, take the next step in becoming a more confident, connected, and happier YOU! Me, My Selfie, and I: Discovering and Embracing a True Love of Self is a 2024 Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards Gold Medalist for Activity Books (Arts and Crafts), 2024 Next Generation Indie Book Awards Finalist for Children’s/Juvenile Non-Fiction, and a 2024 Purple Dragonfly Winner for Honorable Mention in Health.
Lisa MacDonald created and facilitated her first esteem/empowerment group for girls called It’s a Girl Thing in 2007. Since then, she has devoted over 8 years to It’s a Girl Thing groups within her educational context. She completed her Master of Arts in Educational Foundations from Mount Saint Vincent University in 2014. In researching her thesis, she learned how education can be a means to finding one’s self and how self-love is crucial to being able to navigate relationships and be at one’s best. Me, My Selfie, and I shares the key lessons that she has refined through working with girls in educational contexts for close to twenty years. Lisa continues to work as an administrator in education. She lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with her daughter, Elizabeth.
