Although many consider them the predecessors of modern Scots, little is known about them outside of limited archaeological artefacts and mentions of them left by the Romans. Clayton N. Donoghue is an author and mechanical engineer with a passion for history. His previous books, The History of the Celts and The Irish Empire, look at unique and fascinating periods in the history of the British Isles. He has travelled extensively in Europe, and his background in engineering and the military allows him to explore the properties of ancient infrastructure. He lives in Orillia, Ontario, and is a member of the Simcoe Writers Association.
