He was inspired to develop a manual that the reader would be able to carry with them, and as such, has passed on a wealth of knowledge that will serve as an inspirational and informative guide to any ambitious salesperson.
Elie Richard was born in the coal mining town of Minto, New Brunswick. Having graduated from high school he travelled to Montreal and was hired by a national railway company, where it quickly became evident that sales and marketing would be his area of expertise. While he excelled in numerous sales competitions with reputable earnings in the sales field, he was asked by his employer to design a marketing course to educate those who aspired to be salespeople. His skills in his profession have led to some interesting moments in his business career. Elie was involved in a marketing film with the former Canadian Heavyweight boxing champion, George Chuvalo. He was also selected to do the voice of a famous politician, George-Étienne Cartier in a national television broadcast, and several years later, he was the public address announcer for a national hockey league exhibition game in Moncton, NB. The author’s inspiration to develop a handbook on sales techniques was driven by the lack of information in bookstores that would serve as an invaluable source of education to the prospective salesperson. Having been in sales and marketing for most of his business career, while directing several sales forces, he came across the concept of developing a revealing handbook that would cover every aspect of sales. Now, he would like his book to be in the hands of all existing and aspiring salespeople. Successful Selling is Simply Awesome is the author’s first book to be published. Elie resides in Dieppe, New Brunswick with his wife Rita.
