What Causes Cancer?
What We Know and What it Means
by Anthony B. Miller

Dr. Anthony B. Miller has written What Causes Cancer: What We Know and What It Means for a broad general audience, but it is also intended for those who have already been diagnosed with cancer, as well as for their families and friends. Dr. Miller’s central premise is that a great deal more is known about the prevention of cancer than most of us realize. In most of the countries of the Western world, cancer will affect one in three persons. Although it is not yet possible to tell which of us is the one of those three, all will benefit by acting upon the knowledge presented herein. What Causes Cancer offers readers a clear and concise overview of the main types of cancer, summarizing data gathered over the history of cancer research from across the globe.

Anthony B. Miller, MD, FRCP, FRCP(C), FHPHM, FACE, holds the position of Professor Emeritus at the University of Toronto’s Dalla Lana School of Public Health. He specializes in cancer epidemiology and has served as chair of the Scientific Council of the World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer in Lyon, France. His medical career has spanned over six decades with a focus on evaluating cancer screening programs and the impact of nutrition, radiation, and occupation on cancer etiology and control.
