New Ways To Enjoy Lancaster County Pennsylvania Cooking
by
Helen Steudler Young
This cook book is for people who are interested in nutritious food and in planning meals wisely when cooking. Included in this book are over 300 Lancaster County recipes to make it easy to plan meals each day of the year.
Helen Steudler Young was born in Lancaster County, known as the 'Garden Spot of Pennsylvania,' where very rich soil yields good crops each year. While writing a weekly newspaper food column for The Fulton Democrat of McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania, Helen began to think constantly about food, writing recipes and cooking each one in her kitchen. She discovered that there are many new ideas that haven't been written in a cookbook. Within her circle of acquaintances, she learned to her surprise that many men really enjoy cooking more than some women, and that cooking is a personal experience. Her nephew Rick for example, requested recipes that came without difficult cooking terms, but with detailed instructions that produced good results. For the past 32 years she has been cooking food for her family of five and is delighted to share her special recipes and creative ideas.
