The Girl Who Loved Adventures: The Village
by Rose Bell

When Rose was a little girl, back in the 1950s, the world was very different, but one thing was just as true then as it is today: Children love adventures! Whether that’s doing something spooky, like picking vegetables from a graveyard; something exciting, like flying down a tall hill on a small tricycle; or something embarrassing, like getting your head stuck in a picket fence—anything can be an adventure depending on how you look at it. The Girl Who Loved Adventures is a collection of short children’s stories taken directly from the memories of its author, who was always getting into mischief when she was a little girl and learning lessons the hard way… although she never truly outgrew her love of adventure.

Rose Bell grew up in a small village in Eastern Ontario in the 1950s. With countless fond memories of adventuring as a little girl, her grandchildren inspired her to share those stories with today's children, many of whom truly have no idea what life was like back then. The stories in this book will inspire children to be curious, to ask questions, to embrace a sense of adventure, and to pursue their love of lifelong learning. Along her life’s journey, Rose has obtained a Bachelor of Nursing Science and a Master of Public Administration achieving academic and career success. When Rose is not traveling, you will find her out exploring in her local community in Ontario. She lives close to where she grew up as a little girl. She is surrounded by loving family and friends who have enjoyed her captivating stories over the years. Rose’s life journey continues to be filled with incredible adventures.
