Millie's Wonderful Day
by Deanna Clatworthy

Millie is ready to tell her family that she’s a girl. It’s something that she knows about herself, even if others don’t realize it! With the support of those who love her, she can be who she truly is! Told in rhyming verse, Millie’s Wonderful Day is the celebratory tale of a transgender child’s warm and supportive coming-out experience.

"This is beautiful - I can relate to Millie. Things like my name, clothes, toys, and hair were all things that I wanted to take ownership of when I was that age." "This positive storyline is an inspiration for families, friends and classmates!" '"I'm so excited for this book to help kids to understand themselves and one another."

Deanna Clatworthy (she/they) is a clinical nurse specialist who specializes in gender-affirming care, and is a member of the Canadian Professional Association for Transgender Health. Her close connections to transgender individuals and desire to see more gender-inclusive children’s stories inspired her to write Millie’s Wonderful Day - her debut children’s book. She adores reading to her grandson, knitting, and travelling. Deanna lives in Guelph, Ontario, with her family and their three beautiful dogs. Blake Sebastian (he/him) is a transgender artist and illustrator from the Fingerlakes region in New York State. He loves cats, all kinds of music, getting lost in books, and drawing silly pictures. Blake currently lives in Palm Springs, CA with his wife and a fluffy tuxedo cat named Persephone.
