Systems of narratives create a landscape of power dynamics and knowledge flows that the protagonist must navigate through to determine if her agency is sourced integrally or instead is crafted by social architects. We can transform society towards structural integrity through considering the social, historical, and ideological forces which form and restrict culture. A collection of reflections promote foundational drivers for equity and psychological liberation; accompanying poetry depicts the challenges and effects of societal algorithms and the associated need for new ways of organizing society.

Duresameen Ashraf has worked for over a decade in public safety and security in Canada, then at the United Nations in Africa, and in sustainable development in Germany, where she completed a global project to empower youth for safe cities in South America and far East Asia. She applies her Bachelors degree in Psychology, Bachelors in law, and Master’s in International Cooperation for Urban Planning to address structural violence.
