Ashley Madison
An Unauthorized Autobiography
by A. Madison

A very average Canadian woman explores the controversial Ashley Madison website and the online dating world, from personal experience. It is a brutally honest, heart-on-your-sleeve account of her personal feelings of need, shame, healing and learning. It is an inside view into the men and women who seek out affairs, the people who struggle with loneliness inside and outside of relationships, and the secrets of infidelity. This account is sad, funny and shocking, putting a human face on the damaged and hated people who join Ashley Madison. Searching for a "normal" relationship, this becomes a story about a journey into the online dating world, sometimes superficial, sometimes painful and almost always with wry perspective and unending resilience to find a relationship.

Much is written and reported on the topic of infidelity, serial cheaters and websites such as "Ashley Madison". There have been legal opinions, psychological speculations, and certainly moralistic responses about those that enter into cheating relationships, but very little is written about the actual people that enter into these cheating relationships. This story is based on a true story about a middle-aged woman's participation on the Ashley Madison website and online dating. The story begins with a woman trying to relearn how to have a relationship, after years in a dysfunctional marriage and a career under the spotlight. It examines some of the untold reasons people seek out relationships while in already in a committed relationship. It is an honest, sometimes sad, sometimes funny story of a journey toward a functioning relationship, by a woman that has no guide or map to lead her. It is a personal perspective from a woman who finds herself in a world she has never known, her personal thoughts and feelings, and those she meets online, in dating websites and cheating websites.

The author, A. Madison, (a nom de plume), is an educated Canadian woman who has had a long career in law enforcement.
