One Cornishman's Children
Travels of a Camborne mining family
by Joyce Burkitt Fetterley

These are just two children out of the thousands descended from the Cornish mining men who worked around the world, beginning in the 19th century.

The author was born in Camborne, Cornwall, home of the Camborne School of Mines. Her father’s work took the family to Africa. She lived in Cornwall, Southern Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) and Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia) and was schooled in Cornwall and South Africa. Their parents met when their father worked in Canada, and as an adult she moved to Canada to meet their mother’s family. She lives now with her husband in British Columbia.
